Friends of Portencross Castle has received a £1,000 donation from Persimmon Homes West Scotland. The donation will help support our ongoing conservation and maintenance programme. FOPC relies heavily on volunteer support, visitor donations, and fundraising events to maintain the castle and provide community access.
Jack Sloss, Contracts Manager at Persimmon Homes West Scotland, who runs the nearby Snowden Gait development, visited the castle to present the cheque to our Chairperson, Sinclair Molloy, and Director, Kahleen Crawford. Jack was accompanied by local councillor Todd Ferguson. The photograph left to right features Sinclair Molloy, Jack Sloss, Kahleen Crawford and Todd Ferguson.
When presenting the cheque for £1,000, Jack said: “Portencross Castle is a landmark that means much to the local community. We’re pleased to help Friends of Portencross Castle continue their invaluable work protecting and sharing this remarkable historic site.”
Kahleen Crawford, who worked in the building industry for over 40 years, said: “Friends of Portencross Castle are delighted to receive the donation from Persimmon Homes as a recognition of FOPC’s and its volunteers’ and supporters’ contribution to the community. It is heartening to see construction companies supporting the efforts of local charities and community groups.”
The donation forms part of Persimmon’s Community Champions initiative, which sees each of its 29 regional businesses donate up to £6,000 every quarter to charities, community groups, and good causes in the areas where the company builds.
A big ‘Thank You’ once more to Persimmon Homes West Scotland.
