Friends of Portencross Castle are sad to let you know that Alastair Glen, our former Chairperson, died on 7th September 2022. Alastair was a driving force in preserving and developing the Castle as a visitor centre for the public. He was a constant encouragement to us all in enabling such a successful project to come to fruition. We are grateful to have had Alastair as a friend. He was a man of great integrity and intelligence; a gentle, humble, diplomatic but determined giant. Alastair was formerly a consultant at Glasgow’s Victoria Infirmary. Our thoughts and condolences are with his wife Lesley and family.
